Abstract

An increasing number of attempts is made to find solutions on how to improve the environment around us. Daily traffic noise or domestic noise is tiring and strongly influences our physical and mental health. Particularly important is the night's sleep that it would not be affected by the noise pollution. Objective of this thesis is to study the Estonian University of Life Sciences car test bench noise level and give possible solutions on reducing it. The work outlines the materials and solutions that might help reduce the noise that comes from testing cars. The measurements showed that the noise level can reach a very high level, but only for a moment with one test at a time. Largely contributed to the noise level lowering if the garage had its door and windows closed, but it was not enough. It also appeared that testing with the closed windows and doors could not be possible to carry out because the garage has insufficient ventilation. For futher developing this thesis can test noise barrier materials, and eventually them installed to the car test bench.
