Nüüdisaegsed järjepidevalt rangemaks muutuvad keskkonnanormid survestavad
mootoritootjaid, muutmaks traditsioonilist kolbmootorit kütust ja keskkonda säästvamaks.
Traditsioonilise kolbmootori arendustöös on valdavalt olnud uurimise all viisid,
parendamaks olemasolevaid tehnilisi lahendusi. Paraku on kolbmootoril aspekte, mida
pole võimalik modifitseerida, näiteks ehituslikud osad nagu kolb on säilinud suhteliselt
muutumatuna läbi aastakümnete. Selle tulemusena on alustatud arendustööd ka uudsete
alternatiivsete tehniliste lahenduste valdkonnas, mis võiksid olla asenduseks senistele
kolbmootoritele.
Käesoleva töö eesmärgiks on projekteerida uudse tehnilise lahendusega sisepõlemismootori prototüüp. Arendatava mootori aluseks on kaasajal laialdaselt kasutatav
kolbmootor, mis on hetkel pea ainus maismaaliikurites ja muude mobiilsetes masinates
kasutatav jõuajam, mille kütusena kasutatakse vedel- või gaaskütuste põlemisel tekkivat
keemilist energiat.
Töö eesmärk saavutati membraanmootori põhimõttelise prototüübi projekteerimisega.
Loodud prototüübi geomeetria põhjal loodi matemaatilised mudelid, mille abil oli
võimalik kirjeldada mootori tööprotsessi. Membraanmootori näol on tegemist madala
surveastmega vänt-kepsmehhanismiga sisepõlemismootoriga, mille väntvõlli paneb
pöörlema silindris paiknev elastne membraan. Uudne lahendus sisepõlemismootorite
vallas võib pakkuda uusi võimalusi sisepõlemismootorite ja nende kütuste arengus.
Present day increasingly stricter environmental regulations are pushing internal combustion engine manufacturers to make the traditional piston engine more sustainable for fuel and the environment. The main development directions for the piston engine are to better its technical solutions. Unfortunately, the piston engine has components that cannot be modified any further. For example the piston has remained relatively unchanged for decades. As a result, development work has begun in the field of innovative technical solutions that could replace existing reciprocating engines. The aim of this master’s thesis is to design a novel internal combustion engine prototype. The engine, which is to be developed, is based on a traditional piston engine, which is currently the main type of engine used for propulsion of land and sea based transport machines and other portable machines. The objective of this thesis was achieved by designing a principal prototype of a membrane engine. Based on the geometry of the designed prototype, mathematical models were developed, which could be used to describe the engine’s work process. The membrane engine is a low compression ratio reciprocating engine. The crankshaft mechanism of the engine is put in to motion by means of an elastic membrane in the cylinder of the engine. This novel engine design offers new opportunities for combustion engines and their fuels.
