Abstrakt
Must pässik (Inonotus obliquus) on üks tuntumaid ravimtaimi maailmas, mis on hiljuti
hakanud populaarsust koguma. Eriti tähelepanuväärne on selle kasutamise kasv viimastel
aastakümnetel, alates tavapärastest igapäevastest toidulisanditest ja lõpetades erinevate
(tõsiste) terviseprobleemide ravivahendina. Käesoleval uuringul on kaks peamist
eesmärki: (1) uurida pässiku toodete populaarsust ja kättesaadavust Eesti turul ning
analüüsida selle kasutamise põhjuseid ning (2) teha kindlaks, kui populaarne on must
pässik Eesti noorte seas ja kui sageli seda kasutatakse. Selle uuringu empiiriline osa viidi
läbi 2023. aasta veebruaris. Selle uuringu jaoks koguti andmeid inimestelt küsimustiku
kaudu, mida jagati e-posti ja sotsiaalmeedia kaudu. Küsimustik koosnes 12 küsimusest,
millest iga küsimuse vastus varieerus sõltuvalt osalejate teadmistest ja kogemustest musta
pässiku tarbimisel. Uuringus selgus, et musta pässiku tooteid leidub peaaegu kõigis Eesti
kauplustes ja apteekides. Suurima osakaaluga leidub chagat eliksiiride (tõmmiste),
kapslite ja pulbri kujul. Kõige enam tarbivad vastajad chagat tõmmise/tinktuuri, kohvi/tee
ning kapsli kujul. Musta pässikut tuntakse kõige enam seene, ravimtaime ja tõmmisena.
Enim kasutatakse musta pässikut tõmmise ja kapsli kujul. Uuring tõi välja, et chaga on peamiselt tuntud oma immuunsust tugevdavate, seedimist soodustavate ja
põletikuvastaste omaduste poolest, mis on ka kõige populaarsemad kasutamise põhjused.
Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is one of the most well-known medicinal plants in the world, which has recently started to gain popularity. The increase in its use in recent decades has been particularly noteworthy, from regular day-to-day food supplements to remedies for a variety of (serious) health problems. This study has two major purposes: (1) to provide an overview of the popularity and availability of chaga products on Estonian market and analyze the reasons for its use and (2) to determine how popular is chaga among Estonian youth and how commonly it is used. The empirical part of this study was conducted in February 2023. Data for this research was collected from people through a questionnaire that was distributed via e-mail and social media. The questionnaire consisted of 12 questions, each related to the participants’ knowledge and experiences with chaga consumption. In market survey, the research reveals that I. obliquus products can be found in almost all Estonian stores and pharmacies. The largest proportion of chaga is found in the form of elixirs (infusions), capsules and powder. The respondents mostly consume chaga in infusion, tincure, coffee, tea and capsule form. Chaga is mostly known as a mushroom, a medicinal herb, and an infusion. It is most widely used in infusion and capsule form. The survey highlighted that chaga is mainly known for its immune-boosting, digestive, and anti-inflammatory properties, which are also the most popular reason for use.
