Abstrakt
Magistritöö uurimisvaldkond on hariliku kuuse (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) selektsioon. Hariliku
kuuse majanduslikule tähtsusele vaatamata on Eesti kuuseseemlates kloonide kasvu väga
vähe uuritud, täielikult puuduvad publitseeritud andmed kloonide käbikandvuse kohta.
Töös uuris autor RMK Võhmetu kuuseseemla erineva päritoluga kloonide kasvu ja
käbikandvust ning selgitas analüüsi põhjal välja kloonid, mistäidavad tootmisseemlale seatud
eesmärke. Välitööde käigus mõõtis autor 75 klooni 1500 poogendil kõrguse, 2022. a kõrguse
juurdekasvu, rinnasdiameetri, võra läbimõõdu, loendas käbide arvu ning hindas käbide
värvust ja kahjustuse esinemist poogenditel.
Analüüsi tulemusel saab väita, et kloonil on statistiliselt usaldusväärne mõju kõikidele
mõõdetud tunnustele. Poogendite 2022. a kõrguse juurdekasvule avaldasid negatiivset mõju
käbikandvus ja seemlas kahjurina esinenud väike-kuusevaablane.
Kõrguse ja käbikandvuse alusel valis töö autor välja 20 parimat klooni, mida kasutada
edasisel paljundamisel ja uue kuuseseemla rajamisel Kullenga taimlasse.
Kinnitust leidis töö hüpotees, et Võhmetu kuuseseemlas on erineva kasvukiiruse ja
käbikandvusega kloonid ning leidub neid, mis ei täida tootmisseemlale seatud eesmärke.
The research field of the master's thesis is the breeding of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.). Despite the economic importance of Norway spruce, the growth of Norway spruce clones in Estonian seed orchards has been studied to a limited extent and there is no published research data about the cone bearing of the clones at all. In the research, the author analyzed the growth and cone bearing of different plus tree clones in the RMK Võhmetu seed orchard and based on the analysis selected the clones that fulfill the goals set for the seed orchards. During the fieldwork, the author measured the height, increment in 2022, breast height diameter, crown diameter on 1500 grafts of 75 clones, counted the number of cones and observed the color of the cones as well as the presence of damage on the grafts. As a result of the analysis it can be stated that the clone has a reliable effect on all the measured characteristics. The connection was confirmed, that the annual height increment of the graft is affected by both the cone bearing and the lesser spruce sawfly who’s acting as a pest in the Võhmetu seed orchard. As a result of the master's thesis, the author selected the best 20 clones based on height and cone bearing to be used for further breeding and establishment of a new seed orchard in the Kullenga Nursery. The hypothesisthat the Võhmetu seed orchard has clones of different growth and cone bearing, and there are those that do not meet the goals set for production seed orchard, was confirmed.
