Abstrakt
Tänapäeval on muutunud üha olulisemaks, et ehitus- ja viimistlusmaterjalid oleksid
keskkonnasõbralikud ja võimalikult väikse süsiniku jalajäljega, et vähendada
kasvuhoonegaaside emissiooni. Seetõttu tootjad otsivad uusi võimalusi puitmaterjali
mitmekülgsemaks viimistlemiseks. Näideteks nendest võimalustest on puidu
vastupidavust soome sauna keskkonnas. Katsed toimusid kliimakapis, mis oli seadistatud
vastavalt standardile. Muutujatena hinnati katsekehade koloriitsust, läiget ning
viimistlusmaterjalide adhesiooni.
Tulemustest selgus, et katsekehade koloriitsuse muutus on tuvastatav mõõtmiste teel, kuid
mitte visuaalsel vaatlusel. Läige püsis umbkaudselt sama või oli näha tõusu, sõltuvalt laki
margist. Ristlõikekatse näitas, et tindi adhesioon halvenes saunakeskkonnas kõigi lakkide
puhul. Võrdlus varasemaga näitas, et katsekehade lakiga kaitsmine saunakeskkonnas
õigustab ennast.
Uurimustöö eesmärgid said täidetud ning tulemustel on praktiline väärtus. Käesoleva töö
põhjal saab uurida edasi teiste viimistlusvahendite vastupidavust saunakeskkonnas ning
langetada otsuseid viimistlusmaterjali valiku osas.
Nowadays, it has become increasingly important that building and finishing materials are environmentally friendly and have the smallest possible carbon footprint in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This is why manufacturers are looking for new ways to give wood materials a more versatile finish. Examples of these options include heat treatment and surface printing. The finishing of wood in extreme environments, such as saunas, has also become important, requiring the wood material and the finish to be resistant to high temperatures and humidity. The thesis investigated the durability of surface printing of three different varnish finishes on thermally treated alnus glutinosa and populus tremula in a Finnish sauna environment. The tests were carried out in a climate chamber set up according to the standard. The variables evaluated were coloring, gloss and adhesion of the finish materials. The results showed that the change in colouring of the test specimens is detectable by measurements but not by visual observation. The gloss remained roughly the same or an increase was seen, depending on the varnish brand. The crosscut test showed that ink adhesion deteriorated in the sauna environment for all varnishes. Comparison with previous results showed that the protection of the test specimens with varnish in the sauna environment is justified. The objectives of the research were met and the results have practical value. The present work can be used to further investigate the resistance of other finishes in the sauna environment and to make decisions on the choice of finish material.
