Tallinna kesklinnas põhjustab noortele mõeldud kolmanda ruumi puudumine
sotsiaal-ruumilisi konflikte, mille tulemusel on ekstreemsportlased tulnud Vabaduse
väljakule. Käesoleva bakalaureusetöö eesmärk on lahendada kõnealune konflikt, muutes
alakasutatud Kaarli puiestee skate-urbanismi-põhimõtete abil noori kaasavaks
linnaruumiks.
Metoodika tugineb ruumianalüüsile, vaatlustele ja arhiiviuuringutele, mis kinnitavad ala
ajaloolist spordifunktsiooni. Kujunduslahendus põhineb funktsionaalsel tsoneerimisel,
jagades puiestee kolmeks: esinduslik sissepääsuala, varjualustega keskne puhkeoaas ja
aktiivne skate-plaza.
Disainis järgiti genius loci-printsiipi, sidudes valgest betoonist maastikuskulptuuri
olemasoleva kõrghaljastusega. Kliimakohanemiseks rakendati desealing-meetodit
(asfaldi eemaldamine), heledaid materjale ja istumisäärte seljatugedesse integreeritud
haljastust. Tulemusena loodi noortele turvaline tegevuspaik, mis leevendab pingeid
esindusväljakul ja parandab ajaloolise puiestee ökoloogilist seisundit.
The lack of youth-oriented "third places" in Tallinn's city center causes socio-spatial conflicts, concentrating extreme sports enthusiasts at Freedom Square. This bachelor's thesis aims to resolve this conflict by revitalizing the underutilized Kaarli Boulevard into an inclusive youth space using skate-urbanism principles. The methodology relies on spatial analysis, observations, and archival research (revealing the area's historical sports function). The design solution uses functional zoning to divide the boulevard into three sections: a representative entrance, a central rest oasis with shelters, and an active skate-plaza. Based on the genius loci principle, white concrete landscape sculpture is seamlessly integrated with the historical tree canopy. Climate adaptation involves the desealing method, high-albedo materials, and greenery integrated directly into seating backrests. The proposed landscape architecture solution provides a safe environment for youth, alleviates social tensions at the representative square, and improves the boulevard's overall ecological condition.
