Abstrakt
The presentation took place at the 11th International Shallow Lakes Conference.
• 2800 lakes in Estonia - area ~ 10% of the country and 4.9% of the land territory • According to EU Water Framework Directive, our lakes are divided only into 8 different types. • Two large lakes have their own type (Võrtsjärv; Peipsi) • The small lakes make up 6 types • alkalitrophic (type 1) • not stratified with medium alkalinity (type 2) • stratified with medium alkalinity (type 3) • dark-coloured soft-water (type 4) • light-coloured soft-water (type 5) • coastal lakes (type 6)
