Abstrakt
Töös antakse ülevaade ulukite tekitatud kahjudest Eestis ning mujal maailmas. Töö eesmärk
on uurida imetajate ja lindude tekitatud kahjustusi kalakasvatustes: nende ulatust ja iseloomu
kalakasvatustes. 46% kalakasvatajaid hindab ulukikahjustusi oluliseks, 31% väga oluliseks
ning 23% mitteoluliseks.
Eestikeelset infot, kuidas kaitsta veekogusid lindude ja loomade eest leidub vähe. Samuti
napib kauplusi, kust võib leida spetsiaalseid vahendeid, millega ulukeid eemale hoida.
The present diploma work gives a review of damage caused by wild animals to fish breeding in Estonia and other parts of the world. The main objective of the work is studying and examining the damage caused by mammals and birds to fish breeding: concerning the characteristics, extent and possibilities of decreasing damage. For that purpose the data from suitable reference books has been generalized and the information based on the survey of Estonian fish breeders is being analysed. As a result it is concluded that most damage to fish breeding is being caused by herons. It is possible to avoid the damage by covering the fish-pond with net or wire-net, the way that was mostly used by fish breeders. According to the survey 46% of fish breeders evaluate the damage caused by wild animals to be substantial, 31% consider it to be very substantial and only 23% non-substantial. There is also very little information in Estonian how to protect the bodies of water from birds and animals. Also there are very few stores in Estonia that offer necessary special equipment for keeping away wild animals.
