Kaasajal on põldudele paisatud taimekaitsevahendid
anda soovitusi mahetootmise edasiseks arenguks Eestis.
Milliseid toetusi mahetootjad vajavad ning millised raskused mahetoodangu
realiseerimisel esinevad? Kvalitatiivsete uurimisandmete kogumiseks teostati
ankeetküsitlus mahetootjatega. SWOT- analüüsi meetodiga leiti küsitluse vastuste toel
mahetootmise tugevused, nõrkused, võimalused ja ohud Eestis.
Et mahepõllumajandus veelgi kasvaks, tuleb uurida lisaks, mida arvavad tavatootjad
mahetootmisest. Selleks sai koostatud täiendav küsitlus, eesmärgiga välja selgitada
tavatootjate seisukohad mahepõllumajanduse vajalikkusest. Mahetootmine on tegelikkuses unustatud vana, seega küsitluse põhjal on lootust, et
mahepõllumajandus muutuks uuesti loomulikuks tootmisviisiks. Lisaks rahalistele
toetustele tuleks mahetootmist pidevalt propageerida, tõstes sellega ostunõudlust. Lisaks
Intensive farming has got us thinking more and more about our health and how to save the environment for the future generations. Nowadays, the fields are saturated with plant protection sprays and it has brought us to understand that it is not sustainable. In addition to fresh air and water, people also need fresh food to stay well and healthy. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to identify the difficulties that come along with organic food production and also to give recommendations for its growth in Estonia. The purpose of this study was to point out the different methods of organic production in agriculture. What kind of supports and subsidies organic producers would need and what difficulties they are facing daily in their production process. A questionnaire was carried out between various organic producers to collect data on their methods of productions. Based on the results of this questionnaire and by using SWOT analysis, we can identify what are the strengths, the weaknesses, the opportunities and the risks for organic farmers in Estonia. To increase the relevance of organic production, we needed to carry out additional research to find out the opinions and attitude of conventional manufacturers about their opinion on organic farming. In that event we developed a questionnaire for this reason. Organic farming is basically forgotten about in the present climate that was so much used in the past. Based on our survey we expect that it will become a more natural way of production in the future. Promoting organic production requires additional funding and support in order to meet this increasing demand. Creating a support system for purchasing organic raw materials and distribution would be necessary. A survey conducted with organic farmers and conventional manufacturers clearly pointed out the necessity for a change in practices in the future. It was surprising to see conventional manufacturers supporting organic farming with the understanding of many aspects of it. Based on the performed survey we, can conclude that about half of the conventional manufacturers would possibly convert from conventional to organic within the next five to ten years because of the growing demands. If not fully organic then at least partially. Research shows that organic production has great potential to expand in Estonia.
