Abstrakt
Lageraielankidele säilikpuude jätmise eesmärkide, efektiivsuse ja säilivuse kohta on palju uurimusi, kuid Eestis puudub ülevaade, kuidas tegelikult säilikpuid metsa jäetakse. Säilikpuude kogus on võtmeküsimus metsaelustiku säilitamisel. Bakalaureusetöö eesmärgiks oli võrrelda säilikpuude jätmise vastavust normatiivaktidega, mis väljendub metsaseaduse, FSC ja PEFC sertifikaatide nõuetes.
Algandmed töö koostamiseks saadi välimõõtmistel. Mõõtmised viidi läbi 30 raiesmikul, milleks olid riigimetsa ja sertifitseeritud ning sertifitseerimata erametsa lageraielangid, mis olid raiutud 2010 aasta viimases ja 2011 aasta esimeses kvartalis. Raiesmikel mõõdeti kõigi säilikpuude kõrgused ja rinnasdiameetrid ning lankidele tehtud 4 transektil mõõdeti ka kännud.
Tööst selgus, et Eestis jäetakse säilikpuid vastavalt nõuetele ning tihti isegi rohkem kui on minimaalselt nõutud. Säilikpuudena säilitatakse just suurima diameetriga puid, kuigi sertifitseerimata erametsas oli ka erandeid. Samuti jäetakse säilikpuudeks soovitatud puuliike, sealhulgas kõvalehtpuid. Säilikpuude jätmisel arvestatakse liigilise mitmekesisusega. Enim oli jäetud kaski ja mände, surnud säilikpuudest jäeti enim kaski ja haabu.
There are many studies on the objectives, efficiency and preservation of leaving retention trees on the clear cuttings area, but in Estonia there has not any overview about how many retention trees are actually left in the forests. The amount of retention trees is the key element when preserving wildlife in forests. The objective of the current bachelor´s thesis was to compare of the retention trees with the requirements of forest law, FSC and PEFC certification. Raw data for the compilation of the work were obtained from the field measurements. The measurements were carried out at 30 clear cuttings area, including state forests, certified and non-certified private forests where clear cutting was done during the last quarter of 2010 or the first quarter of 2011.The heights and breast height diameters of all retention were measured and stumps diameter where measured at four transects. From the work it revealed that in Estonia retention trees are left according to the requirement and often even more than required minimum. Trees with the biggest diameters are usually left as retention trees with occasional exceptions in non-certified private forests may be exceptions. Recommended species are left as retention trees there are left, including hardwood trees. Species diversity is considered on retention trees maintaining. Birches and bines where left the most ,as for dead retention trees there where left most birches and aspens.
