Abstrakt
Euroopa Liidu metsa- ja elurikkuse strateegiad aastani 2030 näevad ette süsiniku sidumise suurendamist, mille üheks osaks on kasutusest väljas olevate maade metsastamine, milleks algatati 3 miljardi puu istutamise programm. Eestis võib metsastamiseks kuuluda kuni 160 000 ha maad.
Käesoleva bakalaureusetöö eesmärgiks oli hinnata sanglepa kultuuride säilivust ja kasvukiirust maapinna mätastamisel ja biostimulant arGrow kasutamisel kasutusest väljas olevatel väheväärtuslike rohumaade metsastamisel.
Töös kasutatud andmed on kogutud 2022-2023. aasta sügisel peale esimest kasvuperioodi seitsmelt katsealalt Lõuna-Eestis. Vaadeldi puude kõrgust, diameetrit, tüve ruumala indeksit ja säilivust. Kogutud andmed sisestati MS Excelisse ning statistiline analüüs teostati statistikaprogrammis RStudio.
Töö tulemustest selgus, et maapinna ettevalmistamisel (mätastamisel) oli positiivne mõju puude kasvutunnustele peale esimest kasvuaastat ning biostimulant arGrow ei parandanud puude kasvu. Mätastamise korral ei olnud puude säilivus suurem kui mätastamata alal peale esimest kasvuaastat. Biostimulandi positiivne mõju puude kasvutunnustele tuli välja ketasadraga töödeldud maapinnal. Sanglepa esimesel kasvuaastal osutus maapinna ettevalmistus olulisemaks kui biostimulandi lisamine.
The European Union’s forestry and biodiversity strategy for 2030 are aiming to increase carbon uptake, one part of which is afforestation of marginal lands, for which a 3 billion tree planting program was initiated. Up to 160,000 ha of land can be used for afforestation in Estonia. The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to evaluate the effect of soil mounding and arGrow biostimulant on black alder survival and growth rate on marginal grasslands. The data used in this Bachelors’s thesis was collected in 2022-2023 after the first growing season from seven experimental areas in Southern Estonia. Tree height, diameter, trunk volume index and survival were observed. The collected data was entered into MS Excel and the statistical analyses were performed by using the statistical program RStudio. The results of the Bachelors's thesis revealed that mounding had a positive effect on the growth characteristics of trees after the first growing season, and the biostimulant arGrow did not improve tree's growth. In the case of mounding, tree survival wasn’t higher than in the non-mounding area after the first year of growth. The positive effect of the biostimulant on the growth characteristics of trees was found by using a disc plough soil scarification. In the first year of black alder's growth, ground preparation turned out to be more significant than adding biostimulant.
