Jätkusuutlikkuse ja keskkonnateemad on ühiskonnas järjest suurema tähelepanu all ja neid
käsitlevad ka firmad, mis tegutsevad suurte keskkonnamõjudega sektorites. Tänu suurele
kasvuhoonegaaside emissioonile on transport üks suurima keskkonnamõjuga valdkondi.
Bakalaureusetöö eesmärgiks on hinnata viie Eesti suurima kütusemüüja poolset
keskkonnateemade käsitlemist ja reaalseid samme jätkusuutlikkuse saavutamiseks. Läbi on
viidud intervjuud Alexela, Circle K, Neste ja Terminali esindajatega. Lisaks hinnati ka
jätkusuutlikkuse ja keskkonna teemade osakaalu firmade kodulehtedel avaldatud
kommunikatsioonis. Keskkonnajuhtimissüsteem on Eestis olemas Nestel. Jätkusuutlikkuse
teemadega eraldi tegelemiseks on ametikohad loonud Alexela ja Circle K. Nestes tegeleb
jätkusuutlikkusega eraldi tiim. Süsiniku neutraalsuse eesmärgid on endale seadnud Alexela
(2030) ja Neste (2040). Kõige suurem osakaal jätkusuutlikkuse ja keskkonna teemasid on
Neste kommunikatsioonis (74%), teisele kohale jääb Alexela (60%), kolmandal kohal on
Tartu Terminal AS (10%), neljandal kohal on Olerex (7%) ja viiendale kohale jääb Circle
(0%). Biodiislit pakuvad hetkel turul Neste ja Terminal. Biometaanist surugaasi on võimalik
tankida Alexela jaamades. Elektriauto laadimise võimalust pakuvad Alexela, Circle K,
Olerex ja varsti ka Terminal. Jätkusuutlikkuse kuvandi kasutamist kütusemüüjate seas ei ole
varasemalt uuritud.
Sustainability and environmental topics are gaining more and more attention in society and firms that have a large environmental impact are also dealing with those topics. Due to high rates of greenhouse gas emissions transport is one of the most impactful fields for the environment. This bachelor’s thesis aims to assess the way environmental topics are handled by the five largest fuel sellers in Estonia and what steps have they taken in order to be sustainable. Interviews have been conducted with representatives from Alexela, Circle K, Neste, and Terminal. In addition, there has been assession of the percentage of news on the fuel firms’ homepages that mention sustainability and environment. An environmental management system is being used by Neste. Separate jobs for sustainability and environmental management have been created in Alexela and Circle K. Neste has a team that is focused on sustainability. Goals for carbon neutrality have been set by Alexela (2030) and Neste (2040). The firm that has the biggest percentage of news that mention sustainability, or the environment is Neste (74%), in second place is Alexela (60%), third is Terminal (10%), fourth is Olerex (7%), and fifth is Circle K (0%). Biodiesel is currently being offered by Neste and Terminal. Compressed gas from biomethane is available in Alexela’s stations. Alexela, Circle K, Olerex and soon Terminal are offering an opportunity to charge electric cars. The usage of sustainable brand image in fuel sellers has not been studied before. Previous research has been focused on factors that determine customers preference in fuel stations, but they haven’t considered sustainability. There is also research about which brands are being perceived as sustainable. Interviews revealed that although fuel stations are advertising some sustainable aspects, consumers don’t find it very important.
