About COMBIVET & OH-Boost Joint Research School 2024. This collaborative research school is a dynamic partnership between the Combivet ERA Chair of Comparative Medicine at the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences of the Estonian University of Life Sciences, and the OH-Boost project. It is a collective effort involving four esteemed institutions, the Estonian University of Life Sciences (EMU), Tartu University (UT), University of Helsinki (UH), and the University of Milan (UniMi). The research school is funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program, under grant agreement No 857418, and Horizon Coordination and Support Actions under grant agreement NO 101079349 respectively. Throughout this exclusive research school, students will engage in hands- on training, mastering the essentials of extracellular vesicle (EV) isolation, characterization, and associated data analysis. Participants will be guided throughout the program by experienced instructors in the EV field The curriculum includes a diverse collection of lectures, covering vital theoretical foundations, optimal methodologies, practical tips, troubleshooting strategies, and steadfast adherence to quality benchmarks set by the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV). Furthermore, the program explores cutting-edge advancements, including scalable EV production and crucial techniques such as size exclusion chromatography, tangential flow filtration, nanoparticle tracking analysis, Advanced microscopy for EVs, and EV RNA extraction and characterization. This research school is designed to meet the needs of researchers focused on extracellular vesicles (EVs), especially for those looking to build solid foundational knowledge to begin their exploration of the EV research field.
