Abstrakt
Aastal 2023 viidi läbi kordusmõõtmine looduslikkuse taastamise püsikatsealade proovitükkidel, mis rajati Eesti kaitsealadele aastatel 2001-2004. Proovitükkide mõõtmiste käigus kogutakse andmeid ka proovitükkidel asuva lagupuidu ehk seisvate surnud puude (sh murdunud tüügaste) ja lamapuidu kohta. Lagupuit on oluline metsa bioloogilise mitmekesisuse komponent. Käesoleva töö eesmärk oli välja selgitada, kui suures mahus on erineva looduslikkuse taastamise võtetega proovitükkidel lagupuitu ning milline on olnud lagupuidu dünaamika proovitükkide rajamisest kuni aastani 2023. Tulemustest selgus, et nii surnud kui ka lamapuidu maht oli suurim neil katsealadel, kus taastamise võttena kasutati häilu raiumist koos lamapuude tekitamisega. Püstise surnud puidu maht oli üldiselt jõudsalt kasvanud nii kontroll- kui katsealadel, välja arvatud häilu raiumisel koos okste ülepõletamisega võtte korral, kus püstise surnud puidu maht oli võrreldes esmase mõõtmiskorraga vähenenud. Nii kontrollalal kui ka katsealadel (välja arvatud häilu raiumisel koos okste ülepõletamise võtte korral) olid lamapuude kõik kõvadusastmed sarnastes suurustes esindatud, mis näitab, et lamapuude voog looduslikkuse taastamise katsealal on olnud järjepidev.
In 2023 an inventory was carried out in naturalness restoration plots established in Estonian protected areas between the years of 2001 and 2004. During the measurements of sample plots, data of deadwood – standing dead trees (e.g. snags) and downed deadwood is gathered in addition to many other variables. Different kind of deadwood are important components of forest biodiversity. The aim of the thesis was to determine the volume of deadwood on forest naturalness restoration plots with different restoration treatments and to see what the dynamics of the deadwood has been from the establishment of the plots until the year of 2023. Results show that both, the volume of dead trees and downed deadwood is highest on the plots where the restoration treatment used was gap cutting with creation of downed deadwood. The volume of dead trees has increased on both, control and test plots, with one exception. The volume of dead trees had decreased compared to the first inventory on the test plots where the restoration treatment used was gap cutting with over-burning. On both, the control and test plots, all the downed deadwood hardness degrees were similarly represented with the exception on gap cutting with over-burning sites again. This result indicates that deadwood flow in the naturalness restoration plots has mostly been consistent over time.
