Euroopa Liit ja Eesti selle liikmena tähtsustavad taastuvenergia tootmise osakaalu kasvu.
Hüdroenergia on üks taastuvatest energiaallikatest, mille täit potentsiaali pole erinevatel
hinnangutel Eestis hetkel veel kasutusele võetud.
Töö põhieesmärgiks on hinnata üleüldist hüdroenergeetilist potentsiaali Eestis, kasutades
ArcGIS tarkvara.
km. Antud kriteeriumile vastavad jõed jagati omakorda 500 meetrilisteks lõikudeks, kuhu
genereeriti virtuaalsed hüdroelektrijaamad (VHEJ). Igale VHEJ-le arvutati jaama
võimsus. Selleks kasutati 10 meetrilise resolutsiooniga kõrguskaarti ja Eesti jõgede
äravoolumooduli kaarti. Antud töös pole arvestatud keskkonnaalaseid piiranguid
(rahvuspargid, looduskaitsealad jne.). Lõputöös kasutati hüdroenergeetilise potensiaali
arvutamiseks kokku 117 jõe andmeid.
Töö käigus leiti erinevatel jõgedel hulgaliselt soodsaid kohti hüdroenergia tootmiseks, kus
tänapäeval hüdroenergia tootmist veel ei toimu. Eesti hüdroenergeetiliseks potentsiaaliks
hinnati umbes 70 MW. Seega on Eestis hetkel kasutusel ligikaudu 13% kogu Eesti
hüdroenergeetilisest potentsiaalist.
The European Union (EU) and Estonia as part of the EU, seeks to increase the share of energy production from renewable sources. Hydropower is one of the renewable energy sources, which full potential in Estonia, according to different opinions, is not yet used. The main objective of this work is to assess the overall hydro-energy potential in Estonia using ArcGIS software. In addition to hydroenergetic potential calculations, prospective hydroelectric power stations were also sought. Potential hydroelectric locations were then compared to existing hydroelectric plants to assess the accuracy and suitability of the methodology in Estonian conditions. In determining the hydropower potential, all Estonian rivers with length more than 25 km, were used. Rivers that met the criterion were then divided into 500 metric sections, to where then were generatedvirtual hydroelectric power stations. For each virtual power plant, the capacity of the station was calculated. This was made using drainage module and digital elevation map with 10-meter resolution. This work does not include environmental constraints like national parks and natural reserve parks. A total of 117 river’s data was used to calculate the hydropower potential. During the project, there were found a lot of favorable places for hydropower production in different rivers. Estonia's hydroelectric potential was estimated for 70 MW. Currently, about 13% of the total hydro-energy potential is used in Estonia.
