Abstrakt
The Baltic Society of Extracellular Vesicles (BSEV) Conference is organized at the State Research Institute Centre for Innovative Medicine. BSEV has set an objective to bring prominent experts in the field to exchange the most recent knowledge in this growing field and advance research cooperation within Baltic states.
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to the annual meeting of the Baltic Society of Extracellular Vesicles (BSEV) 2023, organized by BSEV and held at the State Research Institute Centre for Innovative Medicine, in Vilnius, Lithuania. This marks the second BSEV meeting since its inception in 2022. In recent years, Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) have become increasingly important topic in various scientific disciplines, especially among researchers studying cancer, infectious and inflammatory diseases. Additionally, EVs are emerging as important mediators of cell-cell interactions, making them extremely attractive targets for theranostics. The use of EVs was once a hot topic for human medical research; however, now investigators in veterinary medicine, as well as those working with plants and microorganisms, are becoming interested in this amazing new and exciting field. With the establishment of BSEV, scientists in the Baltic states working on various aspects of EVs have begun collaborating more closely, fostering a multidisciplinary approach. We believe that this conference serves as an important platform for sharing and integrating scientific knowledge, creating a conducive environment for networking, collaboration, and career development. I am also very pleased to announce that this will be the 7th conference on EVs that Fazeli Lab has been actively involved in its organization. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the speakers, participants, and organizing committee members for their contributions to the success of this conference. I am confident that this meeting will provide an opportunity for engaging in meaningful scientific debates and discussions. Once again, welcome to the BSEV annual meeting 2023. We wish you all a productive and enjoyable conference.
