Abstrakt
Kvaliteetne künd on põlluharimise alus. Tuhandeid aastaid oleme oma põhitoidu saanud taimekasvatusest. Kuna
planeedi põllpinda ei saa aga lõputult laiendada, muutub üha tähtsamaks saada
olemasolevatel põldudel võimalikult hea, ühtlane ja kvaliteetne saak. Üks
peamisi töid selleks on täpne ja kvaliteetne künd.
Eesti Künniselts on üle 30 aasta künni ja künnivõistluste traditsioone edasi
viinud ning toonud Eesti praktikasse selle ala maailma tippteadmisi ja
kogemusi.
Eestis on välja kujunenud hea mitmel tasandil võistluste traditsioon. Meil on
iga-aastased rahvusvahelised koolinoorte künnivõistlused Olustveres. Sealsed
parimad võistlevad Eesti künnimeistrivõistlustel koos oma ala
meisterkündjatega. Neid võistlusi on peetud Eesti erinevates kohtades:
Jänedal, Väätsal, Olustveres, Tartus, Jõgeval, Vinnis, Kehtnas, Ilmatsalus, Vändras ja Siimustis. 2023. aasta võistlused toimuvad koostöös Järvamaa
Kutsehariduskeskusega Säreveres. 2024. aasta Eesti meistrivõistlused on aga
Vändras ning nendega tähistatakse sealsetel põldudel 150 aastat tagasi Carl
Robert Jakobsoni korraldatud esimesi künnivõistlusi.
Eesti meistrivõistluste võitjad esindavad oma riiki järgmise aasta
maailmameistrivõistlustel, mida korraldatakse alates 1953. aastast. Maailmameistrivõistlustest võtab osa kündjaid ligi kolmekümnest riigist. Eesti
kündjad on osalenud MM-il aastast 1989. 2023. aasta kündmise
maailmameistrid selguvad Lätis Kuldiga lähedal.
2024. aastal toimuvad 69. tiitlivõistlused aga siin, Eestis. Need korraldab Eesti
Künniselts koostöös WPO, Maaülikooli, Tartu linna, Regionaal- ja
Põllumajanduseluministeeriumi jt. toetajatega. See kujuneb kindlasti meie
põllumajanduse suursündmuseks.
Eestis on välja kujunenud asjatundlik künnikohtunike meeskond, kus on suur
osa Maaelu Teadmuskeskuse teaduritel. Hindajatena tegutsevad nii
aastakümneid seda tööd teinud vanameistrid kui väliseksperdid. Igal aastal
lisandub ka noori hindajaid.
Nagu spordis ikka, on ka künnivõistlustel on oma fännklubi. Ühise grupina
on käidud kõikidel taasiseseisvumise järgsetel maailmameistrivõistlustel.
Künnivõistlus on tehnikaala ning seetõttu on võistlustel osalemine kulukas. Aitäh kõigile künniseltsi ja võistluskündjate senistele ja tulevastele toetajatele
ning sponsoritele, tänu kellele seda ala suudetakse arendada ja võistlustel
osaleda.
Loodame, et brošüürist „Kivi sahka“ on kasu nii võistluskündjatele,

Good ploughing is the basis of land cultivation. For thousands of years, we have got most of our food from growing plants. As the arable land of the planet cannot be expanded indefinitely, it is becoming increasingly important to get the harvest that is the best, most consistent, and of highest quality from existing fields. One of the main jobs is to plough accurately and with a good quality. The Estonian Ploughing Association has been carrying on the traditions of ploughing and ploughing competitions for more than 30 years, and has brought the world’s top knowledge and experience in the field to the Estonian practice. Estonia has a well-established tradition of ploughing competitions at several levels. We have annual international school youth ploughing competitions in Olustvere. The best of them will compete in the Estonian Ploughing Championships alongside the champions in their field. These competitions have been held in different places in Estonia: Jäneda, Väätsa, Olustvere, Tartu, Jõgeva, Vinni, Kehtna, and others. The 2023 competitions will be held in cooperation with the Järva County Vocational Training Centre in Särevere. The 2024 Estonian Championships will be held in Vändra, celebrating 150 years since Carl Robert Jakobson organised a ploughing competition in the fields there. The winners of the Estonian Championships will represent their country at the World Championships next year, which have been held since 1953. Ploughers from nearly thirty countries will take part in the World Championships. Estonian ploughers have participated in the World Championships since 1989. The 2023 World Ploughing Champions will be crowned near Kuldiga in Latvia. In 2024, the 69th Championships will be held here in Estonia. They are organised by the Estonian Ploughing Association in cooperation with the WPO, the Estonian University of Life Sciences, the City of Tartu, the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture, and other supporters. This will certainly be a major event for our agriculture. Estonia has developed a team of expert ploughing judges, in which the researchers of the Centre of Estonian Rural Research and Knowledge play a major role. The evaluators are both veteran experts who have been doing this work for decades, and external experts. Every year, young evaluators are added. As always in sport, ploughing competitions have their own fan club. As a group, they have attended all the world championships after the regaining of independence. Ploughing competition is a technical sport and therefore expensive to participate in. Thank you to all the current and future supporters and sponsors of the Ploughing Association and the competing ploughers, thanks to whom it is possible to develop this sport and compete. We hope that the brochure “Kivi sahka” (Break a plough) will be useful for competing ploughers, experts, students, as well as for practical farmers and plant growers.
