Over the last few years the warm weather and wind have greatly impacted the spruce bark beetle (Ips typographus L.) wider spreading and have caused damage to spruces. Beetles have damaged massively our spruces and this has not gone unnoticed by everyday people, which then has arisen a lot of questions about drying spruces. In current study we were trying to find relations between Heterobasidon root rot and spruce bark beetle appearence in the fertile spruce dominated stands. Also whether the root rot damaged stands are more susceptible fot bark beetle for damages. In the outcome of the study, it is found that the spruces lifespan between 60 and 200 years, there was statistically not significant correlation between root rot and bark beetle damages. Statistically significant (p=0.04) correlation appeared between lying wood and bark beetle damages in the spruce dominated stands at the stand age 60 to 80 years. In the current study was found that the bark beetle damages have happened over the years as a result of human or nature dissturbance. It is also clear, that in older spruce stands decrease spruce proportion in the site. Once the spruce trees are 101 years and older then they start to natural thinning and this also increase damages caused by spruce bark beetles.
