Abstrakt
Rakettrelvastus on üks riigi kaitsevõimekuse keskseid näitajaid. Eestil puudub hetkel suutlikkus selliste süsteemide iseseisvaks tootmiseks, mis kujutab endast olulist murekohta riigikaitse seisukohalt. Kuna välismaalt hangitud raketisüsteemide tarned võivad võtta 2–4 aastat, võib kriitilises olukorras selline viivitus seada ohtu riigi sõjalise valmisoleku potentsiaalse konflikti korral. Käesoleva bakalaureusetöö eesmärgiks on tõsta teadlikkust rakettrelvastuse olemusest ning analüüsida, millised alternatiivsed rakettrelvasüsteemid oleks Eesti Kaitseväele sobilikud. Lisaks pakutakse välja ka süsteemi kirjeldus, mida võiks Eesti ise toota, toetutudes teooria ja analüüsi osas käsitletud teemadele. Bakalaureusetöö teoreetiline taust annab ülevaate rakettrelvastuse mõistest, ajaloost, relvastuse eristamisest ja kasutatavatest komponentidest, et luua parem arusaam sellist tüüpi relvastuse olemusest. Analüüsi osas kirjeldatakse rakettrelvastuse rolli riigi kaitsevõime kujundamisel, antakse ülevaade Eestis kasutusel olevatest süsteemidest ja ka alternatiividest ning tuuakse välja sellist tüüpi relvastuse sõjastrateegiline kasutamine Ukraina ja Eesti näitel. Analüüsi tulemusena selgus, et võimalikuks alternatiivsüsteemiks võiks olla EURO-PULS süsteem. Analüüsi põhjal oleks võimalik jätkata tööga magistri astmes, tegeledes süsteemi komponentide projekteerimisega.
Missile systems are among the key indicators of a nation's defence capability. Currently, Estonia lacks the capacity to independently develop and produce such systems, which presents a significant challenge in the context of national defence. The delivery time for missile systems procured from abroad may take 2 to 4 years, which poses a risk to military readiness in the event of a potential conflict. This bachelor’s thesis aims to raise awareness of the nature of missile armament and to analyze which alternative missile systems would be most suitable for the Estonian Defence Forces. Furthermore, the study proposes a system that Estonia could potentially develop domestically, based on the theoretical and analytical research conducted. The theoretical section provides an overview of missile armament, including its definition, history, classification, and core components, in order to establish a solid understanding of the subject. The analytical section examines the role of missile systems in national defence, reviews Estonia’s current capabilities and possible alternatives, and discusses strategic use cases, with a focus on both Ukraine and Estonia. The analysis concludes that the EURO-PULS system could be a viable alternative for Estonia. The thesis also opens the possibility for further research at the master's level, particularly focusing on the design and development of individual components of a domestic missile system.
