Käesoleva bakalaureusetöö eesmärgiks on uurida hariliku kuuse (Picea abies) analüüsketaste
tangentsiaalset kahanemist kuivatamisel. Erilist tähelepanu pööratakse sügis- ja kevadpuidu
aastarõngaste laiuste kahanemise võrdlusele.
Antud teema aktuaalsus seisneb selles, et kuusepuit on Eestis laialdaselt kasutuses ning
kuivamise karakteristikute detailne tundmine võimaldaks tagada kvaliteetsema tulemuse
puidu töötlemisel. Uurimustöö aluseks olevad analüüskettad olid lõigatud eelnevate
lõputööde (Epler 2014, Kuklas 2014, Ploom 2015) käigus Tartumaalt, Järvselja kvartalilt
JS223 langetatud mudelpuudest. Antud töös kaaluti analüüskettad ja mõõdeti aastarõngaste
laiused, misjärel kuivatati need ahjus 103 ± 2 °C juures 48h ning seejärel korrati
mõõtmisprotsessi muutunud kaalude ja aastarõngaste laiuste leidmiseks.
Saadud tulemustest võib järeldada, et hariliku kuuse kuivatamisel on sügispuidu
tangentsiaalne kahanemine suurem kui kevadpuidul. Sügispuidu aastarõngaste laiused
kahanesid keskmiselt 2,53%, samal ajal kevadpuidu puhul oli keskmine kahanemine 1,19 %.
Kokku kahanesid aastarõngad keskmiselt 3,72%.
The objective of this bachelor´s thesis is to study tangential shrinkage of Norway spruce (Picea abies). In particular, the aim of this bachelor´s thesis is to compare undried and dried tangential shrinkage of early- and latewood. This subject is very important because Norway spruce is widely spread in Estonia and knowing its structural differences helps to achieve higher quality wood products. At the beginning of this thesis, there were 50 analyse boards which could be used for the objective of this thesis. They were all collected in the year 2013 from Estonia, Tartu county, Järvselja forest block JS223 by the previous thesises (Epler 2014, Kuklas 2014, Ploom 2015). All the boards were weighed, growth rings were measured under the microscope and then dried. After that, the boards were dried at 103 ± 2°C for 48h, after which the boards were weighed again and re-measured to find out how the growth rings had changed while the wood dried. The result of this work is is that early wood shrunk tangentially average of 2,53% and late wood shrunk 1.19% on average. All together Norway spruce growth rings shrunk total of 3.72%.
