Abstrakt
Austatud lugejad! Hoiate oma käes juubelikonverentsi TEUK-X kogumikku, mis
on silmapaistvaks tähiseks taastuvenergia entusiastide 10 aasta tegemistele. TEUK
konverentside korraldamise põhiliseks eesmärgiks alates idee sünnist on olnud
kogemuste vahetamine ja avalikkuse teavitamine taastuvenergia allikate alaste
uurimistööde tulemustest ja kasutamise võimalustest. Usun, et see eesmärk on
suudetud täita, sest konverentsid on olnud populaarsed ning konverentsi materjalid
kõigile kättesaadavad. Julgen väita, et koos TEUK konverentsidega on sirgunud
uus põlvkond energeetika spetsialiste, kes rakendavad saadud teadmisi oma
igapäevases töös. Eesti Maaülikool jätkab koos heade partneritega traditsiooni
kindlasti ka järgnevatel aastatel, et tulevikus saaksime tähistada veel suuremaid
juubeleid ja vaadata tagasi arengule, mille tunnistajateks me oleme olnud.
TEUK-X toimub 13. novembril 2008.a. Eesti Maaülikoolis. Seekordne konverents
on erakordne, kuna lisaks tavapärastele ettekannetele teeb konverentsi ellukutsuja
Valdur Tiit ajaloolise tagasivaate, mis lõppeb tänukirjade üleandmisega
taastuvenergia allikate silmapaistvamatele uurijatele ja propageerijatele. Pärast
meenutusi jätkatakse argisemate teemadega, milles käsitletakse Eesti riigi
energiavarustuse arengukava, Eesti Energia arendustööd taastuvenergia vallas ning
tuule-, bio-, hüdro- ja päikeseenergia uurimistööde tulemusi. Ettekannete järgselt
toimub diskussioon teemal „Taastuvenergeetika arendamine Eestis“.
Kuna Eestis on praegu valikute tegemise aeg, siis on ülimalt oluline võtta osa
diskussioonist, sest tänased otsused kujundavad meie ühiskonda ja Eestimaa
loodust. TEUK konverents on hea võimalus oma arvamuse avaldamiseks neile, kes
usuvad, et taastuvenergia allikatel põhinev energiavarustus on üheks oluliseks
säästva arengu võtmeks.

Dear readers! You are holding the proceedings of the jubilee conference TEUK-X, which is an outstanding signpost in the last 10 years’ activities of the enthusiasts in the renewable energy field. The main goal of organising TEUK conferences since the birth of the idea has been exchange of experiences and informing the publicity on research results and usage possibilities of renewable energies. I believe that those goals have been accomplished – the conferences have been popular and the conference materials are public to everyone. I also dare to state that with the TEUK conferences a new generation of energetics specialists has been grown up, who will use their gained knowledge in their everyday work. Estonian University of Life Sciences with our partners will definitely continue this tradition in the following years so that in the future we could celebrate even higher jubilees and look back to the renewable energy development that we all have witnessed. TEUK-X takes place on 13th of November 2008 in Estonian University of Life Sciences. This conference is extraordinary because in addition to regular presentations Mr Valdur Tiit, the initiator of the TEUK conference series, will make an historical retrospect of the last ten years, which will result in handing out Thank You letters to the most remarkable researchers and propagators of renewable energies. After the retrospect we will continue with more ordinary topics – Energy Sector Strategy for Estonia, Renewable developments in Eesti Energia, research in wind, solar, hydro and bioenergetics will be discussed. After the presentations an open discussion will take place on development of renewable energy sector in Estonia. As it is time of making important decisions in Estonia then it is very important to participate in this kind of discussion, because the decisions of today shape the future of our society and Estonian nature. TEUK conference is a good opportunity for expressing an opinion for those who believe that energy supply based on renewable energy sources is one of the important keys in sustainable development.
