Päikesepaneelid on üks võimalus, kuidas saada keskkonnasõbralikku elektrienergiat. Suurendades paneeli pinda suureneb ka saadav energia. Tootjate väidete põhjal on selleks sobiv kasutada kahepoolseid päikesepaneele, mille tootlikkus võiks olla kuni 30% kõrgem kui ühepoolsetel paneelidel ja seda eriti talvel.
Käesoleva töö eesmärk on teostada nimetatud väite kontrollimine, valmistades selleks katseraami, mida saab liigutada erinevate asukohtade vahel. Teostades kontrollmõõtmised erineva peegeldusteguriga (albeedo) maapindade kohal ning muutes paneeli nurka päikese suhtes, saab leida paneeli esimese ja tagumise poole tootlikkuse suhte.
Töö käigus saadud tulemused ei kinnitanud Eesti oludes tootjate väiteid. Parimal juhul saavutati küll ligilähedane tulemus, kuid see oli tingitud esimese poole kehvast tootlikkusest. Edasiste tööde käigus võiks toestada mõõtmisi pikema ajaperioodi jooksul ja veel erinevamate aluspindade kohal.
Solar panels are one way to get environmentally friendly electricity. Increasing the surface area of the panel also increases the energy produced. Manufacturers claim that double-sided solar panels are suitable for this purpose, and that their output could be up to 30% higher than that of single-sided panels, especially in winter. The aim of the present work is to verify this claim by preparing a test frame that can be moved between different locations. By performing control measurements over ground surfaces with different reflection coefficients (albedo) and by changing the angle of the panel with respect to the sun, the ratio between the front and rear side of the panel can be found. The results of this work did not confirm the claims of the manufacturers in Estonian conditions. In the best case, the result was close, but this was due to the poor productivity of the first half. Future work could confirm the measurements over a longer time period and over even more different substrates.
