| dc.description.abstract | Bakalaureusetöö eesmärk on välja selgitada mis iseloomustab passiivset metsaomaniku, millised on nende kavatsused, väärtused ning miks nad oma metsamaal ei tegele metsa majandamisega. Uuritakse ka kas metsaomanike oleks võimalik motiveerida, et nad muudaksid oma otsuseid ja tegevusi oma metsakinnistul. Töös on kasutatud 2011 aastal läbiviidud metsaomanike kavatsuste uuringut ja selle tulemusena saadud andmeid. Välja toodi kõik metsaomaniku tüübid, kes on esindatud Eestis. Metsaomanike iseloomustamise võrdluseks kasutatakse varasemat Boon ja Meilby poolt Taanis läbiviidud uuringut. Et selgitada välja passiivsed metsaomanikud koostati töö käigus uus valim. Selleks kasutati lõputöö koostaja arvates metsaomanike aktiivsust ja passiivsust näitavat küsimust: „Millised on Teie lähiaja (5-aasta perspektiiv) kavatsused metsa majandamise suhtes?” Metoodikast tulenevalt selgus, et passiivne erametsaomanik on keskmisest vanem metsaomanik. Pooltest passiivsetest metsaomanikest väärtustab metsamaastiku ilu, privaatsust, puitu ja metsa kui pärandit. | dc.description.abstract | The aim of this thesis is to study the characteristics of passive forest owners and what are their intentions and values, why such owners do not manage their forests on their land. Also, the options for motivation of passive forest owners are discussed in this study, in order to activate their decisions and activities towards their land. This thesis uses the data from Forest Owner Survey in 2011. All forest owner types in Estonia are explained. Boon and Meilby’s forest owner study results from Denmark are used for comparison. The selection of questionnaire data from the forest owner survey was assembled for this study. The question “What are your short-term perspectives (5 years from now) on management of your forests?” was used for the selection purpose. Our results show that passive forest owner is older than the average forest owner. More than half of passive forest owners value forest landscape beauty, their own privacy, timber products and their forest as heritage for next generations. Additional motivation of forest owners to start to manage their forests more actively, can be done mostly by the changing of the external motivation environment of forest owners. | eng |
