Abstrakt
Juurepess (Heterobasidion spp.) on üks kõige ohtlikumaid metsapatogeene Eestis, kuna on
võimeline nakatama elusaid puid ning majanduslik kahju ulatub miljonitesse eurodesse.
Hiidkooriku (Phlebiopsis gigantea) oiidide baasil valmistatud biopreparaat Rotstop® on
efektiivseim juurepessu tõrjevahend, kuid uuringud näitavad, et kohaliku päritoluga tüved
võiksid olla tõhusamad just hariliku kuuse kändudel. Töö eesmärk on hinnata varasemalt
isoleeritud Eesti päritolu hiidkooriku tüvedel oiidide tootmise võimet, et leida tõhusaim
potensiaalne juurepessu biotõrjevahend. Töös uuriti 17 Eesti ja ühe Soome päritolu Rotstop®
tüve oiidide hulka ning arvutati iga tüve kohta oiidide arv. Saadud tulemusi võrreldi eelnevalt
mõõdetud seente kasvukiirustega. Tulemustest selgus, et oiidide tootmises edestas viis Eesti
päritolu hiidkooriku tüve (13949, 20949, 15695, 24666 ja 21041) Soome päritolu Rotstop®
alusorganismi tüve. Seost seente kasvukiiruste ja oiidide hulga vahel ei tuvastatud.
Varasemad uuringud nii Eestis kui ka välismaal on leidnud, et kohalikku päritolu hiidkooriku
tüved on Rotstop® tüvest efektiivsemad juurepessu tõrjel nii labor- kui ka välikatsetel.
Edaspidi tuleks läbi viia kuusepuidul- ja kändudel kasvatamise katsed, et leida sobivaim ja
efektiivseim juurepessu biotõrje vahend.
Heterobasidion spp. is one of the most dangerous forest pathogen in Estonia, as it is capable to infect living trees, and causes millions of euros in economic losses. Biological preparation Rotstop® is based on the oidia of Phlebiopsis gigantea, it is the most effective root rot control agent, but studies have shown that strains of local origin may be even more effective. The aim of this work is to evaluate the oidia production of previously isolated P. gigantea strains of Estonian origin in order to find out the most effective biocontrol agent for root rot. Oidia of seventeen Estonian and one Finnish Rotstop® strains were counted and number of oidia per strain was calculated. The obtained results were compared with measured growth rates. The results showed that five tested Estonian P. gigantea strains (13949, 20949, 15695, 24666 and 21041) outperformed Rotstop® in the production of oidia. There was not statistical significance between growth rate and the amount of oidia. Previous studies in Estonia and abroad have found that local origin strains of P. gigantea are more effective against root rot than the Rotstop® strain in both laboratory and field experiments. Further tests on spruce wood and stumps are required in order to find the most effective biocontrol agent of root rot.
