Aastal 2017 kiitis Riigikogu heaks kliimapoliitika visioonidokumendi „Kliimapoliitika
Käesoleva bakalaureusetöö eesmärgiks on
hinnata vabatahtlike keskkonnameetmete kasutuselevõtmise motivaatorite tähtsust
ettevõtluses. Eesti tehnoloogiaettevõtted allkirjastasid 2019. aastal Roheleppe, mille
eesmärgiks on muuta ettevõtted kliimaneutraalseks.
Samuti peetakse oluliseks majanduslikku kokkuhoidu. Välistest teguritest
peeti tähtsaks konkurentsieelise saavutamist ning koostööpartnerite ootustele vastamist.
On märkimisväärne, et regulatsioone pidasid vastajad ebaefektiivseks nimetades neid liiga
leebeteks. Intervjuude tulemustest on võimalik järeldada, et Roheleppega on liitunud
uuendusmeelsed ettevõtted, kelle teadlikkus uute tehnoloogiate rollist kliimamuutuste
leevendamisel on kõrge.
In 2017, the Parliament of Estonia approved the vision document for climate policy “General Principles of Climate Policy until 2050”, which provides that by 2050 Estonia must reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% compared to the 1990 level. The contribution of the private sector is also needed to achieve this goal. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to assess the importance of motivators for the introduction of voluntary environmental instruments in business. In 2019, Estonian technology companies signed a Tech Green Pledge, the aim of which is to make companies climate neutral. To understand the motivators, 10 interviews were conducted with representatives of the companies that joined the agreement. The individual interviews were semi-structured and consisted of 15 questions. A qualitative content analysis was performed to interpret the results. The results showed that making the business strategy more sustainable requires the company's internal motivators, both the high awareness of the company's manager and the interest of employees. Economic savings are also considered important. Among external factors, it was considered important to gain a competitive advantage and meet the expectations of cooperation partners. It is noteworthy that the respondents considered the regulations ineffective, calling them too lenient. From the results of the interviews, it can be concluded that the Tech Green Pledge has been joined by innovative companies with a high awareness of the role of new technologies in mitigating climate change.
