Bakalaureuse lõputöö erialal Keskkonnaplaneerimine ja maastikukujunduset
Käesoleva töö ideelahenduse kontseptsiooniks on Jaamamõisa linnaosas asuva ala linnaruumile avamine olemasolevat identiteeti maksimaalselt säilitades. Liigvee probleemi lahenduse idee tuleneb Eesti loodusest tuntud rabadest. Raba on sademetest toituv pisiveekogudega maastik. Vanematele kortermajadele on ette nähtud renoveerimine.
The concept of this work is the opening of the “Chinatown” area located in the Jaamamõisa district for public use, whereas the key is to preserve the existing identity. The aim was to create an idea that would modify the reputation and solve the existing problems of the area and later on attract people to see the area and spend their free time in the nature. The analysis of the area showed that the biggest problem is the moist surface area. The groundwater is pressurised and would not filter in from the surface. The solution to the problem derives from the nature of Estonia. Bog is a terrain that is mostly built up by rain water and consists of little water reservoirs. In the concept of the work, many small bog pools have been created using the existing terrain profile in the area. Excess water would fill up the artificial pool and is going solve the problem of floods in the area of gardens, apartments and streets. The value of Chinatown can be considered as having an unorganized organizational yard and the labyrinth of the garages. Maintaining the identity of the place creates a contrast between high apartement houses and the natural environment. In order to connect the city and the artificial bog, there is planned a neat structure of streets, pathways and bog pools. There are pathways in the „Bog in the city“ that would run between the bog pools, bringing the water closer to everyone and offering an intermittent environment. Three new apartment houses are planned to highlight the border between the buildings and the bog. Older flat houses are intended to be renovated. From the roofs of the garages opens up a view to the houses and the current garden area, where the view is blocked by underwood. This lead to the idea of pathways on top of the garages, making it possible to take a walk up there, sit down and enjoy the view or even a cup of coffee in a pop-up bar.en
