The aim of this bachelor thesis was to offer a solution to three areas located on the shores of River Emajõgi. The areas in this thesis were chosen and planned keeping in mind the following requirements – being connected the river so that the river, riverbanks and the town would function as a whole, the solution being functional, connected to the nature and integrated. The solutions were also planned to emphasize the unique characteristics of the specific area and to enable them being possibly used as a venue. Analyzing the green areas, flood banks, the accessibility of river banks and visual blocking led to three areas being chosen for further development balancing the main issues and possible solutions for the specific area. The leading concept was derived from opening up the river banks, the potential of natural green areas, flood banks and the visual block of the banks. The main idea was to unite the nature and the town bringing citizens closer to the river. In all three areas the concept described before, was followed. In the first area between Tigutorn, Zeppelin and the river the people were invited closer to the riverbanks, into the nature. The linear banks of Karlova and Annelinn were to connect the riverbanks by offering people a “green shortcut”. Creating a bridge next to Sõpruse Bridge is to unite the two banks of the river bringing cyclists and pedestrians closer to the river.en
