Käesolev töö on Eesti Maaülikooli maastikuarhitektuuri eriala bakalaureuse lõputöö. Projekti ala on 1920-ndatel (Postimees(1886-1944), nr.40, 11 veebr. 1923) aastatel rajatud sadamaraudtee ja sellega külgnevad alad. Sadamaraudtee eesmärk oli jõesadama ja Emajõeäärsete äride teenendamine. Tänaseks on endine raudteekoridor kasutusest väljas. Töö lähteülesanne on pakkuda lineaarsele alale uus funktsioon ning siduda see linnaruumiga. Endine raudtee muutub kergliiklusteeks. Muuhulgas on pakun lahendusi raudteekoridoriga seotud aladele. Valitud alad seon sadamaraudtee kergliiklusteega lähtudes linnaruumi arengu perspektiividest. Väljapakutava lahenduse eesmärk on luua kergliiklustee koridor, mis oleks erinevate linnajagude ühendav lüli ja peegeldada vahelduva linnaruumi erinevaid aspekte. Ala on mõeldud kasutamiseks kõigile. Projektiala on atraktiivne ka linna rongiga külastavatele inimestele.“Reflections of urban space” is a bachelor thesis in the speciality of landscape architecture. The aim of the project was to find a suitable purpose for an inner city railway track called “Sadamaraudtee” which was constructed in the 1920s to serve the industries by the river Emajõgi. The railway at hand has been mostly out of use for decades. Sadamaraudtee runs through a variety of city districts and blocks. In this project some of the areas surrounding the railway were repurposed as well. As the former railway passes through a number of different cityscapes it acts as a linking medium for various parts of the city. My first theme of the project is to turn the tracks to a largely uninterupted path for cyclists and pedestrians and to landscape this path to a linear park. The starting point of proposed pathway would be from the railway station to to serve people coming to Tartu by train as well as locals. The linear park will connect the city in itself and would be continuous from railway station to beyond the former railway. My second theme for this project is to reflect the attributes of the distinctive parts of the city that the pedestrian and bicycle path runs through or by. E.g. the boiler house by Turu street will be made into a block that would ‘produce’ culture while the riverside will be made accessable and areas near commercial districts will house commercial buildings thus reflecting the essence of their neighbouring blocks or preexisting conditions at the site.
